Wedding Cake with Yellow Roses

yellow sage cake

As I walked a very long trail at the park today I was surrounded by thousands of blooming trees, plants, flowers, and probably some weeds too.

It’s been sunny and a little warm and combined with the rain earlier in the week everything is blooming!

Sure this means a lot of pollen but it also means I’m dreaming about wedding cakes with gorgeous flowers. Yes, I do dream about wedding cakes. Don’t you?

This lovely cake is practically perfect in every way! It has a nice vintage vibe thanks to the lace embellishment on both tiers. And the yellow roses and sage atop the cake give it that perfect spring feel.

I can see this cake fitting in perfectly at a small, outdoor springtime wedding. And if that wedding has a vintage theme…well that’s even better!

Blackberry Wedding Cake

blackberry cake

I’ve recently decided that I need to eat more fruit and fresh berries are currently on the top of my list of must-have snacks.

So, when I saw today’s wedding cake I just knew I had to share it with you because it looks delicious and it would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding.

This two-tier blackberry wedding cake is absolutely stunning thanks to the blackberries surrounding each tier.

The icing is also infused with crushed blackberries, giving it that gorgeous swirled look.

You could have any kind of cake inside, but I think something not-too-sweet would be best.

And of course, if blackberries aren’t your favorite, raspberries would be incredible on this cake and so would blueberries. Oh just imagine a lemon based cake and a light lemon icing infused with blueberries.

Oh that would be divine!

You can find this berry beautiful cake here.

Ocean Inspired Wedding Cake

ocean cake

As we slowly inch closer and closer to summer it means we’re getting that much closer to beach season too.

And that means beach weddings and wedding cakes the remind us of the beach.

Like today’s wedding cake. It’s a subtle reminder of the things we love most about the beach – the surf and the sand.

The two-tiered cake features fondant icing that was hand-painted with water colors to mimic the blues of the ocean. I’m also loving the basket weave embellishment at the bottom of the cake.

This cake would be lovely at your beach wedding or at your beach themed wedding, if you happen to be having your nuptials nowhere near the water.

Wedding Cake with Sugar Flowers

gumpaste flowers

Spring is in the air which means it is the perfect time to start sharing gorgeous spring-inspired wedding cakes.

Today’s cake is lovely and spring-y and adorned with flower petals. Sugar flower petals to be exact.

And we all know sugar flowers are better than real flowers because you can eat them.

This three-tier white cake is anything but boring with these gumpaste petals giving just the slightest hint of color as they are each painted with light pink and green.

Your guests will ooh and aah over this cake and it’s the perfect floral cake for your spring or summer wedding.

No need for a cake topper here – the gumpaste petals are all the accents you need.

Spring Wedding Cake

white cake1

It’s the first day of April and spring is in the air and that’s no joke!

As I look outside I’m spying buds on the trees and tulips popping out of the ground and I’m convinced that the warmer weather is here to stay.

Which means I just had to find a gorgeous wedding cake today with springtime flowers!

This cake is that perfect springtime confection.

I love the square tier mixed with the round tiers. It gives that cake an elegant and glamorous feel. And the simplicity of the floral design is just perfect.

The pink and green flowers with that touch of orange is all the spring is just perfection. A simple cake topper – maybe a single fresh flower that matches the others – would be ideal.

Strawberry Wedding Cake

strawberry naked cake

One of my favorite summertime fruits is the strawberry! They’re sweet and perfect and can be used in so many ways, even on a wedding cake!

I love strawberry shortcake and today’s naked wedding cake reminds of that sweet treat.

This wedding cake was created with pound cake (of course!) and layers of mascarpone cream and strawberries. I think it might be my new favorite spring or summer wedding cake.

Imagine how perfect this cake would be at your late spring or early summer wedding – especially if you just happen to be planning an outdoor reception!

This is a “naked” wedding cake trend I would definitely like to see at a summer wedding!

White Wedding Cake with Pink Flowers

pink flowers

When I’m looking for wedding cakes to share with you I’m always searching for that one cake that stops me in mid-scroll.

That cake that wows me from my computer screen. And today that cake is this one with the pretty pink flowers.

As we inch closer and closer to spring and the much-anticipated blooming of springtime I flowers I just had to find a cake that had lovely blooms as part of the decorating.

I love this cake for its simplicity and elegance.

And I love it because it would look amazing at a springtime wedding, even if pink wasn’t one of “your colors.”

The three-tiered cake is iced with ivory frosting, which gives it a bit of a modern vibe – no standard white icing here. And the soft pink peonies are so pretty and elegant.

It’s simply perfect.

St. Patrick’s Day Wedding Cake

shamrock cake

Tomorrow we’ll all be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and the wearing o’ the green, so today seemed like a good day to showcase a cake with little green shamrocks!

This lovely three-tier cake is iced with gorgeous rolled fondant which is decorated with sugar paste four leaf clovers.

I love that this cake is elegant yet whimsical and would be perfect for any bride looking for the Luck O’ the Irish on her wedding day!

And because the shamrocks are small and lovely you really could use this cake at any time of year, not just around St. Patricks’s Day.

We found this lucky cake here. It was created by La Petite Fleur.

One-tier Chocolate Wedding Cake

one tier cake

You ever have one of those days when you are craving chocolate?

Happens to me every day and today I decided to do something about it – I found the perfect one-tier chocolate wedding cake just for you!

I love the idea of serving a wedding cake iced with decadent chocolate icing. Why? Because your guests won’t be expecting it. They’ll be waiting for a cake with white icing and some pretty embellishments.

But chocolate cake? That’ll keep your guests talking about your wedding for a very long time!

And this one-tier cake is so pretty! The chocolate icing looks like roses and the gold and silver hearts as cake toppers adds that perfect amount of whimsy to the cake.

Of course, it is just a one-tier cake so it might be enough for you and your new spouse. I think this cake would be ideal as the cake you cut and then you could serve a bigger wedding cake (or even cupcakes!) to your guests.

Elegant White Cake with Fresh Flowers

cake and flowers

It’s March! So that means spring MUST be just around the corner, right?

Well I’m convinced that the snow has to end soon so I’m showcasing spring wedding cakes today. And this all-white cake with cascading fresh flowers is perfect for a spring wedding!

The wedding cake itself is a classic and elegant three-tier white fondant cake. On its own, the cake would be pretty but boring. But when you add a splash of bright colors with fresh flowers it changes everything!

And while you could use big, bold flowers on this cake I really love the look of the small flowers. It gives the cake an air of elegance that big flowers wouldn’t.

The flowers here are fuchsias and mini orchids but mini roses would be gorgeous too!
